Character images and image replies

A profile portrait, an uploaded chat image and a newly generated picture are different things. Character configuration determines which images can appear.

How images appear in chat

Creators can upload a set of images and describe situations in which they should appear. An expression or scene can accompany a relevant exchange. Selection uses the meaning of the conversation rather than relying only on an exact phrase.

Look for a character configured with image replies. Asking for a picture does not add a gallery to a profile that has none.

Generation and creator galleries

An uploaded gallery reuses pictures selected by the creator. Image generation creates a new picture from input to an image model. A picture in a reply is not evidence that a new image was generated on that turn.

Check the controls in your account for image tools and their requirements. A text-model allowance does not establish which image features are included.

Setting up image replies

  1. Open Create Character, expand Advanced and find Image Upload.
  2. Add a picture you have permission to use.
  3. Describe when it belongs in the conversation, such as a surprised expression after unexpected news.
  4. Save the setup and try an exchange that fits that situation.

Check both the crop and the meaning of the image. Use greeting formatting for text layout; gallery settings decide which pictures can accompany the scene.

If a picture does not load

Check whether one character or all images are affected. Record the profile, browser and visible error, then follow image troubleshooting.

Keep uploads within the content rules. Do not use another person's private pictures.

Frequently asked questions

Does every character send images?

No. Image replies depend on character configuration and the image features available to the account.

Is a gallery image generated from my message?

Not necessarily. A gallery can display an existing picture when the conversation matches a situation configured by its creator.
