Group chat and multi-character scenes
A scene can involve several fictional people without giving everyone the same voice. Establish the cast, what each person wants and when they speak.
Separate characters or one ensemble bot
A group conversation can use several character profiles or one bot written to portray a cast. In the second setup, the definition holds the roles and speaking habits for each member. The platform's group controls and an ensemble definition are different ways of organizing the scene.
Check which setup you are entering before writing your first message. A Group Chat tag describes the premise; it is not itself a button that adds profiles.
Give each speaker a job
For an original harbor mystery, try three adult characters: a dispatcher who wants the ferry to leave, an engineer who wants to inspect a damaged radio and a passenger who knows why the message is incomplete.
Give each a name and a different immediate goal. Start with the engineer asking one question. Let the others join when they have something relevant to add instead of making every person answer every turn.
Keeping speakers recognizable
Put a speaker's name before dialogue when several people reply together. Keep actions beside the person carrying them out. For example: Engineer: I can repair the receiver, but I need ten minutes.
Your persona is another participant, not a role for the bot to control. If names or roles become mixed up, correct the exchange using message controls before continuing.
Shared background and the next scene
A World Card can hold the harbor layout and ferry rules. Keep each person's opinions in their character definition. Neither the map nor a world note decides who speaks next.
At a scene change, note who is present, where they are and which decision remains open. Save an important exchange through memory controls rather than repeating the entire cast history.
Frequently asked questions
Is a multi-character bot the same as adding several profiles?
No. One bot can portray a whole cast, while a group-chat feature organizes separate profiles. Check the setup before starting.
Does attaching a World Card create a group chat?
No. A World Card supplies shared background. The cast and conversation setup are separate.
