Character and chat features
A conversation starts with a character profile. The model, message controls and saved information affect what happens after the greeting.
Character profiles
A profile gives a fictional character a personality, situation and opening message. Tags help you find a premise, but two characters in the same category can have different writing styles.
When creating a character, separate the individual's behavior from shared world information.
Editing and saved exchanges
Open a reply's actions to edit its wording or correct a story detail. Pin a message when the next scene needs its information; manage existing reminders through Pinned Messages. The message controls explain which action to use.
Save Memory keeps a selected exchange you can revisit. Choose its visibility before sharing it.
Images and voice
Image replies can use a gallery configured by the creator. The image may be an existing picture selected for that situation rather than a new image generated on that turn.
Voice tools include spoken playback and recorded messages. A custom voice changes playback; it does not change the character definition.
Language and response style
Interface language and response language are separate choices. Ask the character to reply in English, Japanese, Chinese or another language, then check whether the chosen model follows that instruction consistently. Writing and translation quality vary.
Keep the same point of view and reply length while testing models. Change one setting at a time so you can tell what affected the result.
Checking a conversation
Try an ordinary exchange, a correction and a change of subject. Notice whether the character keeps its voice and leaves your decisions to you. Check model allowances separately from response quality.
Settings for a longer story
Use saved memories and pins for exchanges and current facts, World Cards for shared background, and a persona and scene for the current roleplay.
Change the response language separately from the character's personality.
Appearance
The appearance selector provides dark, light and system choices. A theme changes the interface, not a character's personality, language or model settings.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit a character's reply?
Yes. Open the reply's actions and choose Edit. Save the correction before continuing the conversation.
Does saving a memory make it public?
Visibility is a separate choice. Review whether the saved exchange is public, unlisted or private before confirming.
